OWNER, SEAWAY HOTELS, CORAL GABLES
As principal shareholder of Seaway Hotels, Prescott oversees one of Miami’s most iconic structures. Completed in 1926, the 273-room, 150-acre Biltmore Hotel resort in Coral Gables was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1996.
Seaway Hotels also owns the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater. In addition to hotels, the company’s holdings include two refrigerated warehouses in New Jersey and a wholesale travel agency in Chicago.
The organization previously owned Alexander All Suite Hotel in Miami Beach and Staten Island Hotel in New York.
Prescott grew up on a ranch in Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho. A CPA, he also holds a master’s degree from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Before purchasing interests in business ventures, Prescott was a management consultant in the U.S. and in Italy for Olivetti. He also served as an officer and/or director for several publicly owned companies.
Prescott currently serves on nine boards and committees, including Visit Florida, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association and the Orange Bowl Committee.
