J. ROBERT MCCLURE III

PRESIDENT & CEO, JAMES MADISON INSTITUTE, TALLAHASSEE

McClure has been president and CEO of the free-market think tank for 17 years. “I never had plans to become involved in policy or politics. The institute is composed of executive personnel in Tallahassee, senior researchers across the country and college representatives around the state.

Education Furman University (BA), Florida State University (MS), University of Florida (Ph.D.)
Something Surprising My great grandfather, Charles E. Davis, was president of the Florida Senate in 1915. My great uncle, Turner Davis, was president of the Florida Senate in 1955. They are the only father/son duo to have ever served in this role.
