McClure has been president and CEO of the free-market think tank for 17 years. “I never had plans to become involved in policy or politics. My first job after college was teaching English and coaching football, basketball and baseball at an all-boys boarding school,” he says. The institute is composed of executive personnel in Tallahassee, senior researchers across the country and college representatives around the state.

| My great grandfather, Charles E. Davis, was president of the Florida Senate in 1915. My great uncle, Turner Davis, was president of the Florida Senate in 1955. They are the only father/son duo to have ever served in this role.
