Sonberg, an accounting major as an undergraduate, started his career as a tax lawyer, moving on to focus on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and securities. |EDUCATION||New York University (BS, LLM), University of Miami (JD)|
|FAVORITE PART OF LEADERSHIP||Recruiting lateral partners who provide depth in substantive areas or expand our client relationships|
|SOMETHING SURPRISING||I never aspired to become the leader of a large international law firm. One thing I have learned in my role is that our partners do not like surprises. They like predictability and consistency. Because of that, I try not to surprise them.|
|PHILANTHROPIC PASSION||The University of Miami medical school’s Diabetes Research Institute and then more recently at the law school|
