JAMES L. BERGER
MANAGING PARTNER, CO-CHAIR, BERGER SINGERMAN, FORT LAUDERDALE
Berger Singerman was founded in 1985 by Mitchell Berger, who is co-chair. James Berger, now managing partner, joined a year later. The firm now has 80 attorneys with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Tallahassee and is well known for its political engagement and philanthropy.
James Berger, who holds bachelor’s and law degrees from Duke University, primarily represents real estate investors and developers in large development projects, property transactions and financing deals. When he was in college, he and his father started a property management firm, which he says gave him insight into the business side of real estate. He is counsel to Jack and Jill Children’s Center, assists the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County with its capital campaign, is a board member of economic development-focused Broward Workshop and a founder of a local youth hockey group.
