PRESIDENT & CEO, CHARLES & MARGERY BARANCIK FOUNDATION, SARASOTA
Hansen made her reputation in the philanthropic community as CEO of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, which she built into a powerhouse that gave out more than $200 million in grants during her 13-year tenure. An Air Force veteran, Hansen took over the Barancik Foundation in 2015. The foundation, which lost its founders, Charles and Margery Barancik, in an auto accident in Sarasota in 2019, has focused its grants on the mental health needs of the Sarasota region.
|EDUCATION||San Diego State (BA), Harvard (AMP)|
|PROFESSIONAL EVOLUTION||I never had a career plan and never applied for a job. I just went where the opportunities took me, meaning I said yes and jumped in with both feet. It was a great way to learn.|
|ALTERNATE CAREER?||If I were in my 20s, I would like to be on the PR/marketing team for Ferrari. Had I stayed in the Air Force, I would be a retired general by now.|
