PRESIDENT & CEO, SITEL GROUP, MIAMI
Uberti’s call center company moved to Miami six years ago after Groupe Acticall — the French startup he launched in 1994 — acquired Sitel, which had been based in Nashville. According to a 2017 interview with the Miami Herald, Uberti considered Miami perfect for a global company because of its diverse population, the “energy of its people” and its direct flights to the “rest of the world.”
Uberti was a business school student in France when he and two classmates started Acticall out of their Paris apartment, eventually growing it into a global provider of outsourced customer services. In addition to its call center operations, Sitel offers clients help with employee training, IT tools and apps and social media planning and research.
When it comes to time management, Uberti is no multitasker. “Multitasking is a skill so many people want to fully harness, but the reality is,” he told Authority magazine, “it doesn’t save you time. It can actually waste time because when you switch from one task to another, your brain must refocus. This requires additional time if you’re constantly switching back and forth, compared to if you just focus on one task at a time.”
