AR Homes by Arthur Rutenberg is the largest franchisor of custom home builders in the U.S., with 44 franchises in 10 states. AR Homes, working with the local franchisee, designs and furnishes model homes and also custom-designs homes. The firm was founded by Rutenberg’s father, Arthur. Barry Rutenberg was the firm’s first vice president of franchise services. As chairman of the National Association of Home Builders, he participated in writing the state’s post-Hurricane Andrew building code, and he served on Gov. Jeb Bush’s Growth Management Study Commission.
