Carlos J. Alfonso

Alfonso is a founding principal and CEO of both Alfonso Architects and Alliant Partners, a real estate investment company, and is a registered architect in 14 states.
He is a trustee of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute, a member of the Florida Council of 100 and serves as chairman of the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. He served on the Constitution Revision Commission in 1997 and as chairman of the Committee on Article 4, which restructured the Florida Cabinet, created the FWC and enshrined Florida Forever, all which were approved subsequently by Florida voters. He also served on the University of Florida board of trustees for 11 years, including as chairman in 2011 and 2012.
Alfonso was born in Cuba and came with his family to Tampa in 1960. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Florida.
