Real Estate

EZRA KATZ
CHAIRMAN, AZTEC GROUP, MIAMI
Once a construction supervisor for a residential home builder, Katz worked for US Realty Investments, a NYSE equity REIT, before forming the Aztec Group to provide commercial real estate and mortgage brokerage services. In 1993, he formed Mayan Properties, a merchant bank, to invest in office buildings, shopping centers, residential land development, hotels, industrial and health care/senior housing. Through Aztec and Mayan Properties he has been involved in more than $12 billion in transactions as a principal and as an intermediary/broker. “We are one of the few privately owned real estate companies and brokers that have survived the ups and downs of the marketplace over the past 35 years. We’ve accomplished this by always being conservative in our approach to investing in real estate and our approach to running the business.”

PHILANTHROPIC PASSION | I have spent 35 years advocating and funding the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach, along with other families in our community. My daughter and sons are actively involved in shaping the future of the memorial. We hope to give birth to another project that will be Holocaust-related and look forward to unveiling this project in 2020. |
