STEPHEN M. ROSS

FOUNDER, RELATED COS., PALM BEACH

The principal owner of the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, the tax attorney started in New York in affordable housing, then moved into just about every sector of real estate with approximately $60 billion in real estate developed or acquired. He’s known globally for Hudson Yards in New York. He stepped down as chairman of Related Cos. earlier this year, but has a new company called Related Ross that owns nearly 3 million square feet of commercial and other properties in Palm Beach County. Last year, he started a locally focused philanthropy in Palm Beach County, to which he contributed $8 million. His Stephen M. Ross Emerging Scholars Program at Palm Beach State College will fund college prep advisors at two local high schools and provide scholarships to the college.
