Weaver retired from the practice of law at the end of 2023, although he remains active in the community, especially at Tampa networking events, where he’s nicknamed “The Weave.” At the University of South Florida’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, he’s teaching courses on Vladimir Putin, Robert Oppenheimer and Samuel Adams. As a prominent land use attorney, Weaver was involved in the development and acquisition of more than $6 billion worth of property over 50 years. He has long been an advocate for affordable housing and better transportation options in the Tampa Bay area.
