J. GREG RUTHVEN

CHAIRMAN & CEO, THE RUTHVENS, LAKELAND

If you spot one of the many large warehouses along the I-4 corridor between Tampa and Orlando, the odds are good that it belongs to The Ruthvens. Specializing in industrial, manufacturing and distribution warehouse space, the family-run company dates back to 1957. Since joining it in 1983, Greg Ruthven has overseen its growth from about 350,000 square feet to what it is today. They own more than 4 million square feet and represent another 1 million square feet — a total of 120 warehouses. In 2022, the company promoted his son-in-law Brandon Clark to president, and Ruthven now works part-time as chairman and CEO. He spends the rest of his time fishing or playing with his grandkids.
