LILA A. JABER

PRESIDENT, LILAJABER CONSULTING, TALLAHASSEE

LilaJaber Consulting, formerly known as the Jaber Group, provides strategic and regulatory advice to national utility clients on regulatory and economic development issues, including workforce development and stakeholder engagement. The practice includes utility-specific matters in energy, water and telecommunications and extends to C-level business strategy development for all companies. Jaber also is the founder of the Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum — which aims to inspire and motivate the next generation of energy leaders — and she sits on the board of Chesapeake Utilities Corp.

EDUCATION: Stetson University (BA, JD)

IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I believe the state needs to incorporate the potential impact of artificial intelligence in our economic planning in an 'industry-education-government' alignment approach similar to our review of affordable housing, workforce planning and quality education. I think we’ve yet to fully understand the impact of AI on everything we do, and therefore, we do not fully appreciate the impact to our economy (good or bad).

MENTOR: Former secretary, former judge, and now at Gunster, Simone Marstiller is one of my mentors as she brings calm, practicality and wisdom to everything she says and does.
