Podhurst Orseck is a litigation firm that focuses on commercial, class action and personal injury litigation mainly on behalf of plaintiffs. A former federal prosecutor, Prieto has led the firm’s class action and commercial litigation practice for more than a decade. He immigrated to Florida from Cuba when he was 7 with his parents. He and his wife endowed a scholarship at the University of Miami’s law school for first-generation law students.

FIRST JOB: Working in a car wash on 103rd Street in Hialeah when I was 15 years old.

PASSION PROJECT: I want to, at some point, start teaching in law school. I would teach the law and advocacy of class actions and complex litigation.

SOMETHING SURPRISING: I obtained a 2nd degree black belt in tae kwon do, which is a beautiful martial art.
