PHIL PURCELL

PRESIDENT & CEO, MARINE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH FLORIDA, FORT LAUDERDALE

Purcell stepped into the leadership role at the association in 2014. It owns the famed Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, said to be the largest in-water show in the world. The annual impact of the show on the region is greater than when South Florida hosts the Super Bowl. The five-day show draws more than 100,000 people and takes place on almost 90 acres and 3 million square feet of exhibit space, with 1,000 exhibitors. Before joining the association, Purcell was a partner and vice president at yacht builder Westport.
