Within his family’s fourth-generation operation, Esformes oversees tomato farming from Florida to the West Coast and beyond, his products serving customers across the country. He was among the first major growers to join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ Fair Food Program, which supports farmworkers with a complaint system, a health and safety program, and a worker-to-worker education process. Esformes later introduced the program to a delegation from Chile looking to expand worker rights in Latin America. He has also spoken out in support of better protecting agricultural workers amid Florida’s record-breaking heat. He is considered a national leader in advancing agriculture production and protection for workers.
