With more than 800 customers and 1,200 employees spread across six global operating centers, ReliaQuest is one of the largest and fastest-growing cybersecurity companies in the world. Its security operations platform, GreyMatter, automates detection, investigation and response across cloud, endpoint, and on-premises tools and applications. Murphy founded the company in 2007.

EDUCATION: Florida State University (BS)

MENTOR: Early on I learned from the example my father set around hard work and doing things the right way. Later on in my professional career an entrepreneur, Phil Moyer, played an important role in helping me develop as a leader, a husband and a father. He actually volunteered to come out of retirement and work as our first bookkeeper when I started ReliaQuest. He was far more than that for many years as we grew the business.

INSPIRING FLORIDIAN: I continue to be inspired by Jeff Vinik and what he’s built in Tampa. I appreciate people like Jeff who not only have a big vision but have the guts to make it possible.
