SAL REHMETULLAH

CO-FOUNDER & CEO, WORTH AI, ORLANDO

Sal Rehmetullah founded and leads Worth AI along with his sister, Suneera Madhani. The brother-sister duo hopes to emulate the unicorn the success they had with their first startup, Stax Payments, originally known as Fattmerchant. Their new venture, Worth, is an AI-powered platform for underwriting. It employs 20 in the U.S. and 15 offshore. Rehmetullah says their previous fintech venture created 70-plus millionaires and provided 400 jobs in Orlando — and they’re “back for more.”

EDUCATION: University of Florida (BS)

IF I WERE GOVERNOR: The first thing on my list would be financial education reform — which is also why Worth was founded … In schools, youth are not taught about fiscal responsibility, credit cards, and debt. My goal would be to incorporate financial education from an early age, to develop a foundation of financial literacy.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED: ‘It doesn’t get easier, you just get better.’ To me this means embracing challenges as they come, learning from experience, and developing resiliency and self-belief in what I’m doing. I’ve translated this lesson directly into each of the businesses that I’ve built.
