Mayo Clinic is a nonprofit organization committed to innovation in clinical practice, education, and research. Mayo opened its Florida campus in 1986 and today has a team of nearly 10,000 employees annually serving patients from every state and more than 85 countries. Thielen has served as CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida since January 2019 and has been a physician with the Mayo Clinic for the past 34 years.

INSPIRING FLORIDIAN: Frances Bartlett Kinne (the former president of Jacksonville University and Florida's first female university president) was a wonderful supporter and mentor of those leading Mayo Clinic in Florida up to the day of her passing at age 102.
