MARTHA MCGILL
PRESIDENT, CENTRAL FLORIDA REGION, NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HEALTH, ORLANDO
Nemours Children’s Health is one of the nation’s largest multistate pediatric health systems. In Florida, it employs more than 4,000 and has more than 1 million visits and interactions with patients each year at 50-plus care sites across the state, including its Orlando hospital. McGill joined Nemours in 2015. She also serves on the Florida Hospital Association’s board of trustees and its legislative committee, as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida’s board.
EDUCATION: Valdosta State University (BS), Georgia State University (MBA, MHA)
IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I’d make children’s health a priority and seek additional ways to partner with and support pediatric care providers. Florida has the nation’s third-largest pediatric population, yet the Annie E. Casey Foundation ranks us 33/50 states in children’s health.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED: One thing I have learned is, whether in business or everyday life, when people come together behind a common cause or mission, we can accomplish anything. In the work environment, it’s often referred to as culture.
