WHAT I’VE LEARNED: The most valuable lesson I have learned in life and business is to treat everyone with respect and acknowledge their presence. We live in a fast-paced world and yet, in health care, I meet people at their most vulnerable moment when they are a patient. Acknowledging them and their needs and showing respect breaks down barriers and allows for a moment of human intervention. If we can take this attitude and action into every phase of human interaction, we will have made a difference in someone’s life.
