Patrick Hwu

Hwu has been president and CEO of Moffitt Cancer Center since November 2020. The only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida, Moffitt employs more than 9,500 and sees more than 89,000 patients annually from all over the world. “Our outcomes are among the best in our field and for that reason, our goal is to provide care to as many patients as possible,” Hwu says.

MENTOR: Steven Rosenberg. I worked with him at the National Institute of Health, and he was a pioneer in stimulating the body’s immune system to fight cancer. One of the greatest things I learned from him is that your sole focus should be on patients, and if you refer back to the question 'How can we help more patients,' you will always make the right decisions.
