FREDERIC MCCOY
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL OPERATIONS, JABIL, ST. PETERSBURG
Jabil is a global engineering, supply chain and manufacturing solutions provider for many of the world’s top brands across an array of sectors, from automotive to transportation to health care and more. McCoy has served in a variety of leadership roles at Jabil for 24 years and serves as president of the Jabil Cares Foundation, which the company formed in 2023. It distributed $1 million in disaster aid following Hurricanes Helene and Milton and has launched scholarships at universities. McCoy has also worked to expand Jabil’s partnerships with St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida for talent development. EDUCATION: Georgetown University (BS), Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies (MA) FIRST JOB: A bookkeeper for a family day care business in Pinellas Park (during high school). DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I have always wanted to finish my Ph.D. in economics and teach undergraduate students. The way that markets and economies work, and how personal finances are affected, is unnecessarily mysterious to too many people. A better understanding would help address the anxiety, fear and misconceptions driving much of our political discourse today. SOMETHING SURPRISING: I was born in Japan, where my father was in the U.S. Air Force, and I got the international affairs bug when he was working at a geopolitical think tank in Washington, D.C. This led to my undergraduate and graduate studies and to living in seven countries to study or work. HOBBY: After living in France more than 20 years ago, I became familiar with and engrossed in road bicycling, competing in triathlons, organized rides and races, and charitable rides. … Most weekends you can find me around Pinellas County on a bicycle. INDUSTRY TREND: For the last seven years, Jabil has been managing ever-increasing product and supply chain complexity impacted by geopolitical forces, the COVID-19 pandemic and shifting demand patterns across the globe. This is driving unprecedented product manufacturing transitions — including substantial regionalization — which has led Jabil to add significant investment in Florida and around the United States.Kevin Carr
