Port Everglades is the world's third-busiest cruise homeport, one of the nation's leading container ports and South Florida's main seaport for receiving petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The port is undergoing a more than $3.8-billion expansion program to strengthen its infrastructure for its cargo, cruise and energy customers. Morris joined the port in July 2024. It has about 260 employees and is a self-supporting enterprise fund of Broward County government. It does not use local tax dollars to operate.

NOTABLE TREND: Cruise passenger growth worldwide remains strong, and Port Everglades is perfectly positioned to continue offering itineraries for everyone, from luxury seekers to family-friendly travelers.
DAILY RITUAL: Asking questions of our frontline team members is a great habit that keeps me grounded, engaged and aware of what is happening. Both good news and things that need to be improved.
IN MY DOWNTIME: Bowling! My time abroad limited my access to bowling alleys … so I am trying to give more time to a passion from my youth.
NEXT GEN ADVICE: Be engaged! Have real conversations with people, ask questions and get involved.
