AVIV TZUR
PRESIDENT, GREATER MIAMI AVIATION ASSOCIATION, MIAMI
The Greater Miami Aviation Association was founded 99 years ago in order to build Miami International Airport. Today it has more than 325 corporate members. In addition to representing those companies' interests, the nonprofit awards scholarships to students in the greater Miami area who are seeking careers in aerospace and aviation, including pilots, aircraft mechanics, aviation finance professionals and control tower operators. Last year, it awarded $250,000 in scholarships to 35 students. Tzur has presided over GMAA for nine years.
EDUCATION: Hunter College (BA)
NOTABLE TRENDS: We continue to see a shortage in manpower across the industry, which is why we help foster the next generation. We also see a future of increased aerospace technology as well as emergence of eVTOL and supersonic flights.
NEXT BIG FOCUS: I have recently accepted a position at University of Miami to help create their aviation finance program. Together with Robert Korn, we have assembled an amazing board of advisors.
IN MY DOWNTIME: Global travel, scuba diving and great wines are my passions.
PERSONAL RESET: Spending time with my family and playing with my grandson, Ethan.
