ALEX MARTINS

Martins has been the Magic’s CEO for more than a decade, overseeing all of the team’s operations as well as serving as CEO of SED Development, an affiliate of the Magic, which is planning an entertainment mixed-use development across Church Street from the Amway Center. Martins represents the Magic as the team’s alternate governor to the NBA Board of Governors and is managing partner of the Lakeland Magic, Orlando’s affiliate in the NBA G League. Martins is an active civic leader and also a recipient of the UCF’s Distinguished Alumnus award. On an annual basis, the Magic gives away more than $2 million to the local community by way of sponsorships of events, donated tickets, autographed merchandise and grants. Magic community relations programs impact an estimated 100,000 kids each year.

INSPIRING FLORIDIAN: Rich DeVos (the late Magic chairman) taught me how to be a leader and most importantly, the value of teamwork. He also imparted his wisdom to me on the importance of making our community a better place to live, work and play.
