Caroline O’Connor

President of Business Operations, Miami Marlins, Miami

Kim Ng and O’Connor made history a year ago when they became the first female duo to serve as GM and president of a major American sports franchise. While Ng left her post in 2023, O’Connor remains. O’Connor, a high school athlete, spent five years as managing director at Morgan Stanley and six years as director at UBS Investment Bank before joining the Marlins in 2017. She worked her way up the ranks and in November 2022 became just the second woman to serve as president of a major league team. She has helped spearhead the Marlins’ investment in improving baseball facilities in South Florida and the Dominican Republic, and locally is credited with successful community outreach efforts such as a tee-ball initiative that has nearly doubled in size since its establishment in 2019.
