PAUL BROADIE II
PRESIDENT, SANTA FE COLLEGE, GAINESVILLE
After growing up in the Bronx, Broadie earned his business degree at New York’s Mercy College with plans of one day working in the corporate world. A teaching stint that helped him earn his MBA changed his mind, leading to a lifetime career in higher ed. Before taking the helm of Santa Fe College in 2020, he served simultaneously as president of Housatonic Community College and Gateway Community College in Connecticut.

FIRST JOB: I was 14 and worked in the engineering department of Harlem Hospital in Manhattan.
MENTEE IMPACT: During my career, I have mentored many individuals. Today, seven of them are college presidents.
SOMETHING SURPRISING: Each new place that I travel to, I have to try a local hot dog.
HOBBY: Renovation projects such as installing tile, electrical and plumbing work.
