MICHELLE MAIKISCH
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CENTRAL FLORIDA EXPRESSWAY AUTHORITY (CFX), ORLANDO
CFX owns and operates 125 miles of expressways, vital to 3 million residents and 75 million yearly visitors across its five-county jurisdiction. As a tolling agency, CFX plays a key role in promoting economic development by connecting communities and businesses, while also planning for the region's future infrastructure needs. EDUCATION: Florida State University (BS)
IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I would first introduce a bipartisan bill ensuring that only those elected by the majority of Floridians can set the state’s agenda. If pressed, I would assemble a top-notch advisory team intimately familiar with Florida's diverse issues and communities.
MENTORS: My grandparents, who were hard-working, native Floridians proud of our state’s unique assets and culture. They were farmers who contributed to Florida’s productivity and remain ideal examples of personal and social responsibility in business and family which drive all my decision-making today.
INSPIRING FLORIDIAN: Linda Chapin, Orange County’s inaugural elected mayor, epitomizes inspiring leadership through her bold vision and collaborative spirit. Chapin’s commitment to environmental conservation is evident in her efforts to acquire over 12,000 acres of sensitive lands. Her legacy serves as a testament to effective leadership and community impact.
