Founded in 1998 as a rooftop solar company, Castillo Engineering has evolved into a leading solar energy design and consulting firm that’s done 1.5 gigawatts of solar and energy storage projects. Licensed in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., it’s become a go-to solar engineering firm for utilities. Christopher Castillo became CEO in 2020 after serving as vice president since 2008. His father Rick founded the firm, which was ranked by Inc. 5000 three years in a row as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I would implement incentives and policies to accelerate the deployment of utility-scale solar projects, including through tax credits, grants, low-interest loans and policies that streamline permitting processes and supply chains.
