JACOB WILLIAMS
CEO & GENERAL MANAGER, FLORIDA MUNICIPAL POWER AGENCY, ORLANDO
Florida Municipal Power Agency is a wholesale power agency owned by municipal electric utilities. Thirty-three municipal electric systems, serving approximately 3 million Floridians, are members of FMPA. Williams joined FMPA as general manager and CEO more than eight years ago and currently leads 106 team members.
EDUCATION: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BS), University of Wisconsin-Madison (MBA)
FIRST JOB: Besides helping my grandfather sell antiques and selling concessions at a baseball park, my first jobs included working at Wendy’s during the summers, helping in the math and science departments at junior college, and summer interning for three years at electric utilities.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I would be the general manager of the Green Bay Packers, the community-owned NFL team that is uniquely tied to the Green Bay area and Wisconsin in general.
SOMETHING SURPRISING: Outside of work, I am more of an introvert and enjoy spending time with the family.
