ARMANDO PIMENTEL

PRESIDENT & CEO, FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, JUNO BEACH

America’s largest investor-owned electric utility, FPL employs more than 9,000 and serves approximately 12 million customers. Pimentel was appointed to FPL’s top job in 2023 after previously serving as president and CEO of FPL’s sister company NextEra Energy Resources.

EDUCATION: Florida State University (BS)

FIRST JOB: Working at my uncle’s garage as a kid. It taught me many lessons that I would ultimately use during my professional career, which began when Deloitte & Touche hired me as an accountant.

HOBBY: I love fishing and boating. They’re great ways for me to unwind and enjoy the beautiful place we call home with my family.

INDUSTRY TREND: Energy demand is growing at a record pace across the country, meaning utilities have to be equipped to power and accommodate that growth.
