Headquartered in Lake Mary, Mitsubishi Power is the “power solutions brand” of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, designing, manufacturing and servicing power systems worldwide. The company, which employs more than 2,700 professionals, has committed to becoming “net zero” by 2040 as it develops technology and solutions to help industry partners meet their 2050 decarbonization goals. Newsom has more than 30 years of experience in the power sector and has served in various roles at Mitsubishi Power for more than two decades, rising from service sales manager up the ranks to become president and CEO of Mitsubishi Power Americas in 2021. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Westinghouse Electric, Siemens Westinghouse Power and Calpine. He earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
