KEN BABBY
CEO, TAMPA BAY RAYS, TAMPA
Babby brings an unconventional background to the Rays. He spent 13 years at the Washington Post, rising from summer intern to chief revenue officer of Washington Post Media and general manager of Washington Post Digital. He later founded Fast Forward Sports Group, owning the Akron RubberDucks and Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Named Rays CEO in 2025 under new ownership, Babby worked with the community to bring Tropicana Field back to life after Hurricane Milton and is now helping guide the franchise's next chapter, including its proposed $2.3-billion Tampa ballpark and mixed-use development.
EDUCATION: Wheaton College (BA), Johns Hopkins University (MBA)
DAILY RITUAL: Daily exercise is essential for me to think clearly and be the best version of myself. Time with family is equally important to me.
INDUSTRY TRENDS: There is a renewed commitment to the in-person fan experience across Major League Baseball. The sport is committed to bringing people and communities together around the game more than ever.
FOOD FIX: This isn't a meal, but my favorite snack — Haribo gummy bears.
NONPROFIT PASSION: Project Morry. ... I've seen the significant, positive long-term impact camp can have on the lives of young people. Project Morry is dedicated to ensuring this experience is available to all children, everywhere.
