Khan arrived in the U.S. from Pakistan at age 16 with $500 in his pocket. He bought the auto parts supplier Flex-N-Gate from his former employer in 1980. An engineer, his design for a one-piece truck bumper was the basis for his success; the company now has more than 75 plants worldwide and more than 27,000 employees. After becoming a billionaire, Khan used his auto parts fortune to buy the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012. The Jags are currently renovating their home stadium, and their $1.4-billion “stadium of the future” ensures the team will remain in small-market Jacksonville for another 30 years. Khan owns the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto and is slated to open a new Four Seasons property on Jacksonville's downtown riverfront in 2027.
