SHAHID “SHAD” KHAN

OWNER, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS, JACKSONVILLE

Billionaire auto-parts manufacturing chief Khan has everything rolling but the Jaguars. His $1.4-billion “Stadium of the Future” ensures the team will remain in small-market Jacksonville for another 30 years. Construction began in February. Capacity will be limited in 2026 to 43,500 — and in 2027, home games will be elsewhere in Florida or abroad. The stadium reopens in 2028. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “It’s part of a bigger picture that Shad and the community leaders have been driving; about really building Jacksonville as a community. I think that stadium’s going to be a big part of it. … I also am encouraged by the type of development that is happening in Jacksonville as a community. All of that makes us feel really good about the Jaguars’ future.” Meanwhile, the mixed-use Jacksonville Shipyards urban redevelopment project continues apace.
