DAN DOYLE JR.
CO-FOUNDER & CEO, DEX IMAGING, TAMPA
“I had a unique entrance into my profession, in that my father was a pioneer in the same industry,” Doyle says. “This gave me a powerful head start years later when the time came for me to create my own startup, because I had absorbed his wisdom over time.” In 2002, Doyle persuaded his father, Dan Doyle Sr. — co-founder of Danka Business Systems — to come out of retirement to build a Florida-based business. Their resulting company, DEX Imaging, is now the nation’s largest independent office equipment dealer, supplying document and imaging tech from copiers and printers to larger systems.
EDUCATION: Lynn University (BA)
FIRST JOB: Working in the warehouse at Danka every summer during my high school years.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I’d choose to be an explorer. I love adventure and the outdoors. I’m always curious about what’s around the corner.
SOMETHING SURPRISING: What people may not know about me is that I am naturally a very shy person.
HOBBY: Competitive big game fishing, hunting and golfing.
NONPROFIT PASSION: DEX has donated literally millions of dollars to numerous charities since the company’s inception. I personally have served on the board of directors for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, St. Paul’s School and the Doyle Foundation.
