TEDDY MORSE
CHAIRMAN & CEO, ED MORSE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP, DELRAY BEACH
The roughly 70-year-old Ed Morse Automotive Group is now one of the largest family-owned automotive dealer groups in the country. Teddy — grandson of founder Ed — started as the general manager of the group’s flagship dealership in Fort Lauderdale, earning Cadillac Dealer of the Year twice. He moved to the corporate office in 2012 and now, as CEO, leads more than 2,800 employees at 57 dealerships nationwide that ring up more than $1 billion in annual sales. He’s also on the corporate board roster of the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County and is the chairperson for the annual Ed Morse Golf Classic benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
EDUCATION: Attended Northwood University
FIRST JOB: I learned the automotive business from the ground up starting as a service porter, which often meant sweeping and taking out the garbage. It served me well to have worked in every department of the dealership operations, so I can understand better the role of all of our dedicated employees.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I’d be Batman.
NONPROFIT PASSION: We are about to host the 31st Ed Morse MDA Golf Classic. Last year, it raised a record amount of over $438K for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. That brings the amount raised from this tournament in its 30-year history to over $4.3 million.
HOBBY
