LOUIS ALGAZE
PRESIDENT & CEO, FLORIDA VIRTUAL SCHOOL, ORLANDO
Algaze started his career as a teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and rose through the ranks to become dean of students, assistant principal and principal. He’s led Florida Virtual School (FLVS) since 2019. Under his leadership, the statewide online education provider has grown significantly to serve more than 200,000 kindergarten to 12th-grade students annually. With more than 3,500 employees, FLVS and its national arm, FlexPoint, offer more than 200 courses to schools and districts nationwide.

SOMETHING SURPRISING: As a kid, I enjoyed music and spent several years playing the trumpet, saxophone and clarinet, while also singing in the chorus throughout middle and high school.
HOBBY: I spend much of my free time exercising. Cardio and weightlifting have become important parts of my routine, helping me stay healthy, focused and energized.
