JENNIFER CRABTREE
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL / PRESIDENT, TAMPA MEDICAL & RESEARCH DISTRICT, TAMPA
The Tampa Medical & Research District (TMRD) is a health innovation district anchored by Tampa General, the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa. Crabtree, who has been at TGH since 2019, has led the effort since 2025. “My focus is growing the Tampa Medical & Research District into a nationally recognized hub for health innovation, research and talent development,” says Crabtree. “By strengthening partnerships among healthcare, academic, government and industry leaders, we have an opportunity to drive lasting economic and community impact across Tampa Bay.”
EDUCATION: Florida State University (BA), University of South Florida (MBA)
DAILY RITUAL: I start each day with exercise or by being active, which helps me maintain perspective, manage stress and think more clearly. I also prioritize as much time as possible with my daughters, which keeps me grounded and reminds me why our work to build stronger communities matters.
IN MY DOWNTIME: I love to travel and make it a goal to visit somewhere new each year. I've carried that into parenting, too. Instead of a birthday party, I give the option for my daughters to choose a trip to a new place instead. I'm a big believer that experiences shape us in ways possessions never can.
