MARTHA MCGILL
PRESIDENT, CENTRAL FLORIDA REGION, NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HEALTH, ORLANDO
Nemours Children’s Health has 4,000 associates across Florida and is one of the nation’s largest multistate pediatric health systems. Its award-winning children’s hospital in Orlando offers best-in-class care, conducts groundbreaking research and provides resources in the community that support whole child health for Florida’s children. McGill joined the organization as part of the leadership team in 2015. “I believe Florida’s children deserve the best care and continuously emphasize this to our associates and the elected officials I regularly engage,” says McGill. “We’ve made tremendous strides, now offering multiple nationally ranked programs and working closely with policymakers to support key legislation to enhance children’s health.”
EDUCATION: Valdosta State University (BSN), Georgia State University (MHA, MBA)
FIRST JOB: My health care career began as a nurse at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I spent five years there. I loved that job and still remember many of the children I cared for.
PASSION PROJECT: My current passion project is a house that my husband and I are helping renovate. Located in the Panhandle, it was built in 1907 and had been abandoned. What makes this project so meaningful is the house was purchased by our daughter, who is physically disabled as a result of a car accident five years ago. We’ve been working on the house for a few years, and this project has been healing for her.
