TONY ARGIZ
SOUTH FLORIDA MANAGING PRINCIPAL, BDO, MIAMI
Argiz came to Florida alone at the age of 9 in 1962 as a refugee from Cuba. Catholic Charities became his legal guardian, and he lived in a Catholic boarding school in Tampa until his parents escaped Cuba in 1967. A member of a state championship high school baseball team, he played for Florida International University. An accountant, he built MBAF (Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra) from less than $6 million in revenue to more than $150 million and the largest Florida-based accounting firm. In 2021, BDO announced it acquired the firm. He’s been a leader in major accounting, civic and philanthropic organizations, including the Orange Bowl, FIU and Arsht Center Foundation. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce awarded him its prestigious Sand in My Shoes award for his community leadership.
