EDWARD E. BURR
CHAIRMAN & CEO, GREENPOINTE HOLDINGS, JACKSONVILLE
Burr started out as a Coopers & Lybrand CPA before forming the LandMar group in 1987 to build master planned communities. He founded Greenpointe in 2008, building and managing 20 master-planned communities in 10 Florida counties, adding 27,000 single-family and 2,200 multifamily homes. The company signed a $1.5-billion deal with the Bahamian government last fall to buy and redevelop Treasure Cay in Abaco, five years after it was devastated by Hurricane Dorian. The project will include single-family homes, condos and villas along with a golf course and 175-slip marina. Burr serves on the Florida Council of 100 board and has served as a trustee for Florida State University and its foundation. He chaired the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and the JAX Chamber. He also founded the Monique Burr Foundation for Children in 1997 to honor his late wife. Its programs help children and adults prevent and respond to bullying, exploitation and human trafficking.
