Lorna Taylor grew up picking strawberries and beans during Oregon summers and selling greeting cards door to door around the holidays. “It was really important to mom that we learned the value of a dollar,” she told Florida Trend in a 2014 article. That lesson followed her through life. She studied social ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary, and she eventually built and led Premier Eye Care, which provides routine vision, medical, surgical and administrative services to health plans and their members in nearly 40 states. Health Network One, an HIG Capital portfolio company, acquired the company in 2023, turning Premier into its national eye care division. Taylor — who is involved in a variety of community and nonprofit causes — most recently was honored with the Dali Museum’s 2020 Morse Award and the 2021 Community Tampa Bay Silver Medallion Award, among other recognitions for her work at Premier Eye Care.
