LYNETTA USHER GRINER
SECRETARY AND TREASURER, USHER LAND & TIMBER, CHIEFLAND
Decades ago, Usher Griner had just opened a law practice when her brother, Tommy — who had recently taken over the family’s fourth-generation company — died in a boating accident. She knew she had to step up alongside her husband, Ken, to keep Usher Land & Timber in business. Ever since, she has supported the timber side of the enterprise, comprised of more than 6,000 acres of forestland and a logging operation. In 2012, she made history as the Florida Forestry Association’s first female president. She was also named the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Woman of the Year in Ag in 2013. Usher Land & Timber has received Florida Audubon’s Sustainable Forestry Award and the Logger of the Year Award from the Florida Forestry Association.
