PRESIDENT & CEO, QUANTUM FOUNDATION, WEST PALM BEACH
Kelly, a native of Palatka, says he grew up “in a rural community playing on the dirt roads, running through open fields, catching tadpoles in the ditches and knowing all the neighbors.”
With a bachelor’s degree from FSU and a master’s in non-profit management from Florida Atlantic Univeristy, Kelly has worked in state government and non-profit organizations and has served as chairman of the Healthy Start Coalition of Palm Beach County.
The Quantum Foundation was created with $125 million from the sale of the non-profit JFK Hospital 21 years ago. It has distributed $140 million in grants to public and non-profit organizations to improve community wellness in Palm Beach County while maintaining $150 million in endowment. Among other contributions, the foundation helped Florida Atlantic University start its medical residency program and contributed $900,000 to finance the brain exhibit at the South Florida Science Center. One contribution was $300,000 in seed funding to mobilize a community wellness and revitalization effort in West Palm Beach. “We are bold in our efforts to create a better quality of life for the residents of Palm Beach County through improved health and wellness,” says Kelly, who Is a fan of the Avengers superhero series.
