ALEXANDER HECKLER

MANAGING PARTNER & FOUNDER, LSN PARTNERS, MIAMI

Founded by Heckler in 2010, LSN Partners is a bipartisan consulting firm that also has offices in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach County, Tallahassee and Washington, D.C. It provides advice and advocacy in government affairs, government procurement, emergency management, business development and communications. It has about 35 employees and more than 250 clients. Heckler serves on the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Council.

EDUCATION: Brandeis University (BA), University of Miami (JD)

FIRST JOB: During my senior year of high school, I worked as a busboy, then a server and assistant chef at a local restaurant in Weston. But it was my next job that shaped my path. In college, I worked for Brandeis DOT and drove distinguished guests from the airport to campus. This is how I met Governor Ann Richards. We stayed in touch, and she became a mentor. That experience set the foundation for my career.

DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I would be a baseball general manager or coach.

IMPACT ON A MENTEE: About 10 years ago, a young man came in for an interview at LSN Partners. We hired him, and he quickly distinguished himself. I mentored him closely for several years before he chose to attend law school. We stayed connected, and he completed his clerkships and internships with us. Today, he is an attorney at LSN Law.
