Robert C. Ritchie
CEO, American Integrity Insurance Group, Tampa
Ritchie has become a fixture in Tallahassee, meeting with state lawmakers to talk about property insurance reform. He founded this company in 2006 in response to the shortage of sound home insurance choices in Florida. It insures about 300,000 policyholders statewide. Ritchie has been actively involved in legislative reform since 2015, fighting to fix abusive practices that have plagued the property insurance industry and caused rates to skyrocket.

IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I would work to pass the final legislation needed to restore full viability to Florida’s home insurance market. These changes would not only further stabilize property insurance in a state where 15-20% of homeowners are uninsured, but they would positively impact our real estate market. This change can’t come quickly enough, considering that nearly 12% of Florida homeowners plan to move in the next year due to insurance costs, according to a recent Redfin survey.
MENTOR: Leadership expert John C. Maxwell inspires me to become a better version of myself daily. I have attended his programs for years and have even invested in annual Maxwell training sessions for each of our employees for close to a decade.
