REGIONAL PRESIDENT, WEST AND CENTRAL FLORIDA, PNC FINANCIAL SERVICES, TAMPA

Loar joined PNC, one of the largest diversified financial services institutions in the nation, in 2013 and was named regional president for West and Central Florida in 2016. His market region includes 64 branches and more than 1,100 employees.

EDUCATION: Florida State University (BS), University of Florida (MBA)

FIRST JOB: When I was 11 years old, I cut the lawns of six mobile homes every Saturday morning for $5 per home.

DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I’d have played in the NBA alongside my high school teammate, Tracy McGrady, from Auburndale. Since I’m 5-foot-8-inches and not fast enough to achieve that, it would have been smarter to stay close to Tracy, sign him up as my first client, and have a successful career as a sports agent.

SOMETHING SURPRISING: I recently hiked up to Machu Picchu with my wife.

PASSION PROJECT: Three summers ago, my sons and I set a goal to attend a Tampa Bay Rays away game every summer and visit all 30 MLB ballparks. So far, we’ve visited Kansas City, Baltimore, Toronto and Houston.
