CHRISTINA “CINA” WELCH
PRESIDENT, CEO & BOARD MEMBER, FCCI INSURANCE GROUP, Sarasota
FCCI began in 1959 in Sarasota as a workers’ compensation self-insurance fund. Today, it’s a super-regional carrier offering commercial property and casualty insurance. Welch joined FCCI in 1998 and became president and CEO in 2020. Being one of a few women CEOs in the insurance industry, she says, has allowed her to “bring new perspectives to leadership and decision-making” and “helped pave the way for more voices at the table.”

FIRST JOB: In high school, I worked in a retail store selling tennis-related items like rackets and clothing, etc. I was on the school’s tennis team so you can imagine I enjoyed the job and all the discounts.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: If I had an alternate career, it would be in the medical field. I have a secret ambition to be the next Dr. Pimple Popper.
HOBBY: I am an avid letter boxer. For those who don’t know about letter boxing, it is similar to geocaching and very much like a treasure hunt. I have found letter boxes all over the world and am looking to get letter boxes in all 50 states. Currently, I have letter boxes from 46 states.
