MENTOR: My father was not an educated man, but he was the wisest and hardest-working person I have ever known. He worked tirelessly to provide for our family and created a path for me and my eight other siblings to achieve what he was deprived of.
INSPIRING FLORIDIAN: Former Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal Judge Emerson Thompson, known as a judge’s judge for his mastery of the substantive law, has opened doors and helped pave the way for many Black lawyers like me to make an impact on the profession and in our communities.
